Big brother is sweet to Derek

We were taking a walk the other night, and Drew was practicing with his training wheel-equipped bike. He stopped his bike and said "I want to give Derek a kiss!". So he gets of and proceeds to give Derek a kiss in his stroller, which of course Derek loved. What a sweet pair of guys we have. :-)

Derek and his Colorado "Peeps"

We've been on vacation in Colorado for the last week, and Derek has been doing some serious "bonding" with family and friends here. It's been really sweet to watch. He likes playing air hockey with Uncle Brian. He and Grandma Tuttles had fun with tickling over lunch. And, he would spend a long, long time with the Benda family in their backyard. Here he is enjoying "Uncle Steve" and some watermelon with Jennifer.

"Bella"

As Derek becomes more and more social and more and more verbal, his people preferences emerge. He seems to be a "people person" with many favorites, but few can compare to "Bella" (aka Gabriella Kimsey). Perhaps it's because she takes him out of the "3rd wheel" roll with Drew and Gabriella's older brother Judah, but Derek can sit and watch and talk to Gabriella for long stretches of time.
